Re: Slots & Striations On Taz 6 Parts

Why are those grooves there? My suspicion is to make the part easier to get off the build plate. My friend thinks its to help prevent warping. Any ideas? You are spot on with both accounts. Large flat surfaces areas are harder to get off the plate, and those large flat surfaces lead to uneven cooli...

Printing onto a cold bed with a waxed cardboard sheet as a substrate or butcher paper taped down seems to work for me.
I do not believe we tried either of those in the past, thanks for the heads up!

Anyone try printing with this from machinable wax
We have done some experimenting with that material, and our largest issues was finding an effective reliable way to keep it adhered to the bed. If you find a way that works, please let us know!

I have disabled in Windows but do not know how to disable in MacOS.
The Macos directions for Cura LulzBot Edition have directions for disabling the sleep settings for Mac: https://www.lulzbot.com/learn/tutorials ... tion-macos

We hope this gets you sorted!

Re: Printing question - Flat Surfaces

Only shows up when I search for it using the search command above the advance settings. Some of the settings are hidden by default. To configure which ones are visible by default, go to Settings > Configure Setting Visibility > You can then selection which ones you want to see, or can select all in...

Re: PA-CF Aerostruder TAZ 6 Cura profile?

It's weird that this isn't on the slicer already as is a lulzbot store item The PA-CF is Carbon Fibre filled nylon. As such it is highly abrasive, and will destroy the standard TAZ 6 aerostruder nozzle and hobbed bolt. We include profiles for the PA-CF in the HS and HS+ tool head options, as these ...

Re: Making a Taz 4 Quieter

Is there a way to incorporate the TMC2130 drivers into the Taz 4? It is possible, but it will take a bit of work/customization. There are likely different connectors, mounting changes, and custom firmware that will be required. (We have done no experimentation of installing these boards on older ma...

Re: poor binding layer to layer with ABS

I will say that if those parts or that sensitive to temp we might want to improve airflow - there is a big bunch of wires over those drivers blocking the air from the fan, and also Im not really sure where the air is meant to be coming from to get pulled out by the fan (or the other way around) Gla...

Re: Making a Taz 4 Quieter

I'd love to get as quiet as the Mini 2. There are two big changes on the Mini 2 to reduce noise. The first is the Einsry Retro electronics board which uses the TMC2130 drivers. These drivers have a " Stealthchop " mode which gives the motors much quieter movement. The second aspect will be the move...

It's a single
Spot on, that is the Single Extruder shipped stock with your TAZ 5! The Single Extruder option should be at the top of the list of tool heads after selecting TAZ 5.
