Re: Hairy Prints?

Stringing, blobbing, “zits”, oozing, or other fine artifacts showing up in your prints can be mitigated through the adjustment of several Retraction settings, and might indicate the printing temperature is too high. Retraction, during a print, is how the filament is briefly pulled back some (out of ...

Re: Top layer possible over extrusion

It looks like your flow is set to 120%. This means if your printer is calibrated correctly you are extruding 20% too much material. Try reducing your flow to 100%. If you are still seeing over-extrusion run an extruder calibration. https://ohai.lulzbot.com/project/fine-tune-mini-extruder/calibration/

Re: Matteforge

Their website lists the printing temperatures as "180 - 220C (ideal 195C)" http://www.steelmans3d.com/matteforge.html It's possible this is a temperature issue, first try printing with a temperature 5-10 degrees colder than what you are using now. Then if that doesn't yield the results you are looki...

You can follow up on progress for filament development and other developments on our code page. Here's a link to the Cura work board. There's a section for profiles development and other things. https://code.alephobjects.com/project/board/10/ This is also where to suggest new profiles, submit bugs o...

Re: 12V Silicone Heater Source

One of our re-sellers itworks3d sells a good amount of our older printer parts.

I found this 12V silicone heater in stock on their site:

Re: Using multiple TAZ 5 printers with Cura for Ubuntu

You will need to go into the machine settings for each printer and change the serial port from AUTO to the port that each printer is connected to in their respective profiles.

That should be the only thing that you will need to do if I'm not mistaken.

Re: How long should the bed PEI sheet last?

PEI sheets are basically a consumable item like the tires on your car. The PEI sheet is more or less where the rubber meets the road in this application. Plastics like ABS and Nylon are the roughest on PEI from my experience. They stick really well and can end up taking the PEI sheet up with them wh...

Re: 3D Object slicing / printing issue.

I imported the file into Slic3r and saw 1 Shell, Manifold and no errors. This means the file is good. This made me think it may be a sizing issue. So I scaled the part 200% and it sliced just fine. I also sliced it with the V2 Micro which has a .25mm nozzle and it sliced fine at 100% size. Screensho...

Re: Poor HIPS printing

Have you printed anything with this tool-head before? If not it's possible that your extruder e-steps are too high. A standard tool-head has about double the e-steps of the Aerostruder. So if that wasn't set when you flashed the firmware it's possible you are over-extruding. What are you e-steps set...

Re: Taulman Alloy 910 layer adhesion

I've personally had the best results using a temperature of around 250 on the hot-end with Alloy 910.

We have an open code ticket right now for the printing temperature of Alloy 910.
