It sounds like you may just need to install the firmware for the Taz 5.

The RAMBo boards come with some kind of firmware on them but that firmware is not going to work properly with your printer.

On the mini your bed leveling is going to be connected to the Z-min end-stop spot on the board. The red goes to the nozzle and black to the bed. Unfortunately there's not much you can do for this short of switching materials. PVA support material doesn't stick much if at all to ABS.
