Re: [Dual Extruder v3] Printing Different Colors for Different Layers

Because the start gcode is different for the single extruder and dual extruder, the easiest solution is to split the model into two pieces and let CuraLE handle the switch. If you are willing to edit the GCode, it could be done with substituting the start code and adding just a few commands at the l...

Re: Lulzbot Mini batteries

The simplest solution would be a 12V lead-acid battery and a DC-AC converter. If you plan on bypassing the power supply in the printer, then either one 12V or two 12V batteries in series to get the 12V or 24V output of the power supply. Heating the bed is probably the highest demand and my TAZ 6 is ...

Re: Collapsing Katana Test Print Issues

I'm assuming you have a .5 nozzle on your TAZ 6. The key statement was that the sword pieces were 2 shells thick with a .4 nozzle. I'm wondering if the model needs to be scaled up so that you get exactly 2 shells with the .5 nozzle.

Re: TAZ 5 Firmware Upgrade Issues

In http://devel.lulzbot.com/software/Marlin/ you will find recent firmware versions. Each version contains a .hex and .config file for each printer / toolhead combination. The .config file is a text file listing the Marlin config options for that version. You can use the .config files to see what th...

Re: [Dual Extruder v3] Filament Stops Feeding, Ruins Print, Can't get out Easily

I haven't had to disassemble my Dual Extruder V3 (yet) but I've had some "close calls", and blocking the front fan saved me. I decided to be proactive about preventing heat creep and so I printed and installed https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3213878 . You have to be careful with the wires but I wa...

Re: TAZ 5 Firmware Upgrade Issues

When you were restoring your settings, were you using an LCD? I don't believe the TAZ 5 has auto-bed leveling so the firmware would be built without support for it and G29 would be unknown. Manually send an M115 to your printer and observe (and/or post) the output. My guess is you will see: Cap:AUTO...

Re: Z-offset question?

Bonus question: What's the maximum Z-offset you can apply before the nozzle comes in contact with the print bed? It depends on the physical characteristics of each individual printer. The printer has "switches" (physical or logical) which it uses to determine where to set X, Y, and Z to zero. Witho...

Re: Cannot update esteps

M501 is load settings, M503 is show settings (and M500 is save). Why M92,M500 didn't save the value is the mystery.

Re: New Mini2, need ocotopi settings please!

The "fine print" on this page: This information is used for manual control via the "Control" tab. It does NOT influence already sliced files that you upload to OctoPrint! I left mine (for the TAZ 6) alone and haven't had any problems. If you go to http://devel.lulzbot.com/software/Marlin/ , open the...
