Re: Time to upgrade?

I don't know what kind of budget you have for this "upgrade" project but in the years since the KITTAZ was produced, the cost of a brand new printer has gone down dramatically. While it won't be a LulzBot, I'm pretty sure you can get a new printer for less money than you will spend on even one "upgr...

Re: Strange start script behavior. Heats to print temp instead of melting temp before the button press and wipe

In addition to the start gcode, I'd like to see the first lines of the gcode output. I'm guessing that S3D has some minimal gcode that is being inserted before the start gcode.

Re: Simulating G-code with Python

The print head will go from (30, 30) to (150, 30) at a speed of 500 mm/minute. This would take 14.4 seconds, but in reality, it seems to take slightly longer. Does anyone know why it takes longer and how I can accommodate for that with my simulator? The printer isn't applying acceleration or jerk c...

Re: Dual Extruder Prime Tower Issue

I'm printing using two extruders to get two colors. My second color does not appear until layer 16. The prime tower does not print anything for extruder 2 in the prime tower until it reaches layer 16. Then of course it spews extruders 2 filament into thin air. Should it not print each layer for the...

Re: Dual Extruder Prime Tower Issue

Proper dual color prints should have both colors on every layer. I'm not sure where this comes from but I don't believe it. Take a look at the 3DBenchy files for dual printing which I have sliced and printed multiple times with CuraLE (including 3.6.18). The prime tower has something printed on eve...

Re: Struggling

By default, the LulzBot TAZ 6 uses 2.85mm filament. While it is possible to use 1.75mm filament, I would consider that an advanced user option and by your own admission, you aren't there yet! I would suggest using CuraLE as your slicer. Ultimaker Cura (and others) can be used but again, I would cons...

Re: E3D-v6 changing filament is an issue

I am curious why you would do a cold pull each time you need to change filament. Just to be clear, we are talking about the change from ABS to some other filament type like PLA that has a different temperature range. One color of ABS to another color of ABS is much simpler as you can just push the ...

Re: Posts Responded with "Reach out to the support team" Question

There are many problems that require some additional information and/or some one-on-one interaction. IMO, the support team does an excellent job of identifying when to take a problem "off-line" and work to resolve it. If you are having the same problem as someone else and the support team got involv...

Re: E3D-v6 changing filament is an issue

I use a cleaning filament when I am switching filament types. After purging out the previous filament, the cleaning filament can be "cold pulled" at a fairly low temperature (100-110c) and usually I can shine a flashlight through the filament path and see it on the other side (in a mirror) when I'm ...
