filament temperatures and forum searches

Hi, My real question is what nozzle/bed temperatures to use for nylon and polycarb... I would love to search and read what has already been posted (I'm guessing there has to be some discussion of these materials already...) but, the search engine says that nylon, temperature, filament, etc. return t...

Re: Rough and voided surface at support interface

Yous can see the roughness in these, but the voids are tough to see.

The gcode file is over 4MB it's here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/646 ... lift.gcode

Speaking of that is there a good gcode viewer?

Rough and voided surface at support interface

Is there a setting in Slicer that can help with the rough surface and/or voids I'm getting where support material interfaces with the body of the actual part?

Bed won't stay aligned

I seem to have all kinds of trouble keeping the bed alignmet stable on my 101 I guess first I should ask what sort of alignment I should expect. I put a indicator on the x carriage and from corner to corner (as far out to a corner as I can get with the indicator mounted) about the best I can do is +...

Re: Z axsis steps/mm calculation.

Duh :?

Answered my own question.

The reprap calculator has 3/16-20 and I got cross eyed.

If I do the calculations with 12 as in 3/8-12 it's correct.

Sorry to waste the bandwidth on my myopia... :|

Z axsis steps/mm calculation.

In the shipping docs I got with my A101-1 it says the Z steps/mm is 756.00. This is confirmed in the .h file in the Marlin code. How is this number determined? The leadscrew is 20 tpi, that's 1.27mm per rev. With a 200 step/rev motor that comes to 629.92 for 1/4 stepping and 1259.84 for 1/8 stepping...

Re: Wavy vertical surfaces

Ok, so I have Arduino installed and tested with a stock Arduino Mega. And, I've loaded the MArlin.ino and compiled it successfully. I did not attempt to upload it to my A101-1, because there is nothing to gain since, as yet, I've changed nothing. Assuming I change from a 3/8-12 rod to a 10 TPI leads...
