Re: Power Supply Fan Upgrade [Tutorial]

I don't suppose you know how much current that 12 volt rail is capable of putting out? I needed a source of 12 volts for some fans and LED's, so I added a 12 volt converter and mounted it to the outside of the control box. If I could get the 12 volts from the power supply, that would be much better....

Re: Power Supply Fan Upgrade [Tutorial]

Isn't the Power Supply 24 volts?

The fan you linked to is a 12 volt fan.

Re: Lapping PEI

Do you think it would be too much weight to use for the bed using the Openrails mod?

The cast plates are 1/4inch and about 3 pounds. 1 pound more than the ones from eBay.

Re: Lapping PEI

I use this plate: http://www.ebay.com/itm/188-3-16-Mill-F ... xyLchRx4NT I bought 2 plates from that guy on eBay and both of them are warped. Using them would cause more problems than they are supposed to solve. I then bought some cast plates from Midwest Steel and they are 100% flat. Problem is, t...

Re: Lapping PEI

Those platform leveling screws should be standard on the TAZ. I made the mod and can't believe I went this long doing it the old way.

Re: Taz 5 ABS structure not sticking uniformly to plate

Large Square boxes need Mouse Ears. They work great. I created a collection of them of various sizes and thicknesses and attach them to my corners either in Slic3r or when I'm designing the part. Do a google search for 3d printing mouse ears . Lots of good information. That being said, you've got so...

Re: Adding an Openbuilds Openrail x axis to a Lulzbot Taz 4/5

I did find I needed to make thicker corner pieces to accomodate the aluminum( I made these http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:627331 but had to make them thicker to accomodate the PrintnZ plates I am using for PEI (can't for the life of me get PLA to stick to PEI). So, I should be good to go. We'll s...

I also had excellent success with the hardened rods and linear bearings and was happy with the results.

But, they did nothing to eliminate the sag in the middle of the X travel.

I saw your reply on Redit about the Aluminum Bed and purchased a couple of plates from the e-Bay seller you referred to.

Do you attach your heater directly to the underside and some PEI to the top?

Re: Do you still use ABS Juice with heated TAZ 5 bed?

Polyethylenimine is insoluble in Acetone. PEI should just laugh at acetone and ignore it unless there is a soluble binder mixed in with the sheets or something. I have also heard that Acetone does no harm to PEI. I've been using it on my PEI sheets without problem, but then I don't use the thin Lul...
