It works! Finally! I’m getting some decent results with this stuff!!!

Glad to see you got some decent use out of it. I wondered about shipping PLA as well, could be an issue in a hot area. I’ve heard of people leaving it in the sun in the summer and having it deform. I don’t remember if they mentioned a location, obviously someone in say, Phoenix, is going to have more trouble with that.

I think you’ll find the Colorfabb stuff to be a lot nicer to work with. I’ve used some of it myself, and think it works well. I don’t like the price though, particularly when I can get PETG rolls for half the cost. It also didn’t seem as strong, but that could have been print settings.

I pay $20-$25 for 1kg rolls of PETG, never have a problem with it other than the usual suspects you get with any 3D printing. It’s the stuff I keep loaded up for most normal prints, particularly prototyping designs as it’s cheaper. 🙂 I also like that it doesn’t absorb significant moisture from the air, so I can leave it out on the printer, no need to keep it stored in airtight containers like my ABS/PLA/HIPS/Nylon. Particularly nylon. I’m convinced that stuff absorbs water that isn’t there, some kind of teleportation. ![](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/lulzbot/original/1X/442e459c5ced45cb70e8a05e77e07cea6fee4928.gif "Mr. Green")

Ttabbal: thanks for the info. I’ll have to try PETG after I get some more experience.

I still think that the PLA settings could use some fine tuning; my platform jack’s screw and knob broke about 30 seconds after removing it from the bed. Should have used more infill. I’m gluing it back together to see if I can at least make it work.
