So my leadscrews on my AO-100 have begun to squeak. I’m assuming they need cleaned and/or lubricated. Any suggestions?
Cleaning the lead screws and the brass nuts will do most of the work to get rid of the squeaks. If the squeaking keeps up, you can lubricate the lead screws with a Teflon lubricant. You can also use lithium grease but it is messier.
One thing to note, NEVER use lithium grease on the smooth rods as this will eat away at the bushings. In general any type of solvent lubricant should never be used on the smooth rods.
