Voltage of Hexagon AO Hot End

Hi fellows,

I was trying to make a flexystruder for my mini. Currently I’ve printed all the print parts by Colorfabb XT and I’m looking for purchase the hot end. I found there are two voltage version of hexagon hot end 12V/24V. And I could not find which one should I buy. By searching in TAZ forum, TAZ 5 used 24V hexagon hot end. Is that same to Mini?

BTW, do you guys think Colorfabb XT is strong enough for extruder parts?

Thanks a lot!

It sounds like a really cool project – I hope you post back your results. I’d love to see how that works.

(I wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t – just some muddling: Mini Rambo Board appears to send 12v to the heater: http://download.lulzbot.com/Mini/1.0/production_parts/mini-Rambo/Mini-Rambo.PDF On the other hand, the specifications for the Mini list a 24v power supply: http://download.lulzbot.com/Mini/1.0/production_docs/Mini_Specifications_list_v1.0.odt All of the hardware and software source for the mini is here: http://download.lulzbot.com/Mini/1.0/ but it probably makes sense to just ask Lulzbot support so you get accurate info over making a best guess).

They supply 24 volts to the RAMBo, so you would want the 24 volt heater cartridge version. The RAMBo excepts a wide range of supply voltages on the power supply inputs. It is the same cartridge/hotend for both printers.
