Materials used in Flexystruder

Post by ifeanyi » Wed Nov 25, 2015 12:43 pm

What materials are used in the extruding system for the flexystruder? I am currently using a volcano v6 power pack and I want to know how I could modify it to print flexible materials - for this I need the materials of the flexystruder but cannot find them.

Thanks for your help.

You can find complete source information on all accessories for the TAZ line of printers here: http://devel.lulzbot.com/TAZ/accessories/

The V2 Flexystruder is specifically Kanyu, and within the subdirectory will be a complete BoM. This will contain part numbers and suggested suppliers.

Hope this helps!

You guys know the BOM for Kanyu is the wrong one right? I'm pretty sure a flexystruder doesn't need 3 bearings and an extruder latch, and should have a listing for a PTFE tube somewhere in there.

Thanks for bringing that up piercet! We will get with our R+D department and be sure to get the latest version updated there.

Heya!

I think you might be in the wrong directory or looking at a cached file or something? Everything is looking up to date on our end. This is the BOM for kanyu (Flexystruder v2.0 for the TAZ): http://devel.lulzbot.com/TAZ/accessorie ... .0_BOM.ods

Sounds awesome :). I've wondered about this myself, they have a version where the PTFE bowden tube runs directly into the heatsink, this could work really well for a flexystruder application. Please let us know how it goes!

Cheers

I see there is a second tab there now. The first tab is definitly not for the Flexystruder on the download link Looks like the information is in the second unlabled tab though.

If you look at the top of the spreadsheet you will see the first one is the AO-Hex Printhead and the second is the Kanyu. 8-)
I will express my CRAZY ideas at any time! So you have been warned. None of my opinions are Lulzbots and can be wrong at any second.

Thanks, I've just had a look at it. I still can't find specific materials though. For example, I searched 'nozzle' and the only results were:
- Hexagon Hotend, Lulzbot Edition, 3.0mm Filament, 0.6mm nozzle
- Label, LulzBot TAZ Flexystruder Tool Head v2c, 0.6 Nozzle, Front
- Label, LulzBot TAZ Flexystruder Tool Head v2c, 0.6 Nozzle, Back

I am currently using a volcano v6 power pack. Its hotend contains:
1 x Aluminium Heatsink
1 x Stainless Steel Heatbreak
1 x Aluminium Heater Block
1 x Brass Nozzle (0.4mm)

I need to find the materials used for these parts in the flexystuder so I can know how to modify my current system to try and print flexible materials.

Thank you
