LulzBot Design Philosophy

I am looking to get into the world of 3d Printers and had a general design philosophy question about the lulzbot printer. Looking at the design it does appear that it could be easily upgradable to new hardware and sizes in the future (RepRap). Is that the philosophy of this printer design? Does lulzbot intend to offer upgrades to already purchased printers to allow for greater print sizes, for example.

Thanks!

Yes, new parts get released so your machine can get better. For example, we (and others) have pushed out updates to the AO-100 which improve it (reliability, build volume, etc.).

interesting you bring this up.

I was just recently thinking about getting a second heated build platform, and doubling the Y-axis travel for a long part.

I doubt the rambo board can heat 2 build platforms though…
