X Axis homing issue...

Hi,

I’m using my Taz 6 to hold a laser for engraving and light cutting - I designed a custom mount for the laser using the standard Taz 6 design.

When I put my mount on (no extruder plugged in) the z and y axes home but the x just runs into the switch and stops - i.e. doesn’t bump off as usual. This makes it impossible to use the laser setup as it basically freezes the x axis.

Is there something in the firmware that looks for the extruder or is there some way around this - I know people are using Taz’s for plotting, lasers and even CNC so there must be some sort of work around?

Thanks!!!
