Filtered B Splines Double The Print Speed On The TAZ

Does anyone know if Marlin development or Lulzbot is working on adding Filtered B Splines to the TAZ firmware (or possibly Cura if that would work) to double the print speed of the TAZ from 50 mm/s to 100 mm/s while still obtaining the same print quality like these researchers were able to do:

Probably not until far more processing power is available on the control board...

There is another effort to run most of Marlin on host PC, which would provide a lot more processing power and might make it possible. Here's a forum thread on that: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7057
