Is there any point in annealing HIPS? I'm printing a part with some tall thin walls, and it doesn't quite have the strength I would like: it's coming apart at the layers when any stress is put on it. I'm trying one now with the print temperature bumped up a bit to see if that helps. I'm just wondering if there is something else I could do, such as a post printing heat treatment or ??
I know I should be looking at a different filament for this project, but HIPS is what I have on hand (we used a bunch of it at the elementary school where I was volunteering, so I've got several rolls I would like to use up).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Help with printing with specific plastic filaments.
