Option to wipe hot end periodically during print?

Hi all,

I’m using the TAZ 6 with 3DX’s ESD PETG filament, and Lulzbot’s Cura.

I was wondering if there was a setting or option to have the hot end wipe itself periodically throughout a print. I’m having a slight issue where the filament builds up a bit around the tip and drags some of the layers.

The filament prints very well otherwise but this buildup causes jagged spots on the edge and where the tip changes directions.

Thanks!

You would need to manually insert the wipe gcode as needed.

With the X axis making the possibility of hitting your print high I would say do not try, unless you only are printing small objects on the very back edge of the heat bed.

Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind. With this material I’m printing flat parts, about 1cm high at most, so I think I’ll be okay.

Thanks, I’ll give this a shot and see how it goes.

I dialed down the extrusion multiplier (Slic3r, 0.95) untill there was negligible build-up of PETG on the nozzle while maintining build quality.

I’ll try this too, thanks!
