Carbon Fiber Nylon Filament

Anyone else printing Carbon Fiber Nylon? What are your print settings?

I have a TAZ 5 I just got my first roll of 3DXTech’s CarbonX, which is a carbon-fber-nylon similar to NylonX. I also do have a hardened steel 0.6mm nozzle that I’m about to install, but I wanted to do a test print, so here is my print with the original 0.5mm brass nozzle. I cobbled together a Cura printing profile from a Carbon-PLA profile and a Nylon profile.

Print is not perfect, but it looks pretty good… a few clumps, I’ve never really tried to custom make a profile before, any advice appreciated. Cura Profile include beneath the photos.

There is some residual gluestick on the bed,which I heated to 110º (80º-100º is recommended) adhesion was fine.
260º print temp.
I’m printing at 50mm/s no problem.

There’s a lot of variation in the different brands. I have some Fiber Force Carbon Fiber Nylon that I have been testing out last few days. In my Mini I have Aerostruder toolhead, 0.5mm hardened steel nozzle. settings were 250 hotend, 60 degree bed, 45mm/s print speed, retraction at 1mm NO cooling fan at all, glue stick on the print bed, and got some pretty solid prints.

I got a little bit of sink and a little bit melty on a 3DBenchy I printed, on the roof of the wheelhouse and the smokestack respectively. I think minimum layer times might need to be increased (I started my custom profile off of an ABS profile, but turned cooling off completely, which turns off minimum layer time)

I had been looking at various different brands recommended settings, and that 3DXTech stuff had much higher recommended temps than the Fiber Force.

oh yeah. .2mm layer height, .4mm for bottom layer, and 1mm shell thickness (2x.5mm)
