The REAL problem is that I removed the dual head extruder and replaced it with the single head extruder. I can’t connect via Cura - it says it can’t find the correct baud rate. Is there another way to flash it to the Single Extruder firmware?
It is possible that the thermister for the Single Extruder is bad, but isn’t there a way to at least connect to the machine?
Kind regards,
Randy
Have you tried putting the dual head back on, flash it for the single head and put the single head back on?
The baudrate may be hardcoded to 250000.

Can’t reinstall dual head: sent it back due to warranty issues.
Also tried specifying 250000 baud rate with same results.
Can the TAZ 5 be flashed via the LCD (since it has a card reader)? Is there another way other than via Cura?
Try adding a Custom FDM Printer and in Machine Settings set the Communication speed to Auto

I’ll try that today.
Is there any way to flash the unit without a print head installed?

tried the Custom Printer, but couldn’t connect:
“Baud rate detection failed”
This is the only result after trying everything.
Interestingly enough, when I use Simplify3D, it DOES detect the unit - but can’t upload firmware. I get these messages via Simplify3D console:
READ: Error:MINTEMP triggered, system stopped! Heater_ID: 0
READ: Error:Printer halted. kill() called!
Once again, is there any way to upload firmware without using Cura?

Forgot to add that this command keeps getting issued:
SENT: M105
SENT: M105

SENT: M105
SENT: M105

What is M105 and what is Simplify3D expecting as a return?
Kind regards,
Randy
All you need is a 100K ohm resistor across two pins on the second connector. See:
