Loose part...

Hi all,

Just discovered another issue yesterday …

The assembly displayed in the picture below (see red arrow) is loose, I can move it vertically by roughly 1/4". I tried tightening all bolts on the part without results. The loose doesn’t seem to come from the bushing of the smooth rod, but rather from the threaded rod. Has anybody seen this before ?

Should I try reprinting the whole part, is there an upgrade for this part ?

Thanks again

That X end has a captive brass ACME nut in a channel. Ideally the nut does not move along the z axis, but is free to move along the X axis, to eliminate any Z axis artifacts. The latest X ends are here:http://download.lulzbot.com/AO-101/hardware/printed_parts/stl/ “AO-x-end-…” Your AO-101 has those parts already.

It’s ok if you can lift up on the Z axis a little bit, as the weight of the X axis keeps it seated and down. Several popular RepRap 3d printer designs can have that axis lifted in such a fashion. It should be fine, but you can reseat the brass ACME nut.

Ok, I was a bit worried I had to change some parts…
