SD Card Printing with Lulzbot 6

Hi folks

Have a small question. I just bought this really nice printer and have a question about printing via SD card.
Could print nicely via usb and attached computer. But now I would like to print via SD card.

But there is no content visible when putting the sd card into the printer. Even the stock card which is delivered with the printer shows no content, or files to print when inserted...

Is this mod needed for sd card printing which I found here?

If yes I guess that means...
I can only print via usb or sd card, but both features are not available at the same time? Is that correct?

When you insert the SD card you should see a Print form SD entry at the bottom of the LCD Main screen. Then you will rotate the LCD knob until it is highlighted then press the knob to select that entry. Then you should see a navigable menu of the contents of the SD cord, where you will select the file you want to print.

That what I've tried.

When I insert the card the main screen says: Card inserted.
After pushing the knob and going all the way down,
the software says No SD card.

And there is no content visible

SD card is formatted in fat32 and has two files on it.

Maybe the wrong firmware installed?
Have Marlin 1.0.2.19 installed.

The printer can only print .gcode files
Did you save a .stl to the sd card, or did you follow the steps on pg 27 of the manual to save .gcode to the SD card? http://devel.lulzbot.com/TAZ/Olive/docu ... ior_r3.pdf
In Cura:
File menu
Save .gcode
Save the .gcode file to the SD card
Pg 57 of the manual has the ssteps to start the print

I would contact Support for that problem.

I have only see that when there is a ribbon cable wiring error to the LCD panel.

I am using gcode files generated from cura lulzbot edition.

I had a similar situation but it turned out my card appeared to not be formatted. When I would insert it into my PC Card reader there was a long pause then an error saying it needed to be formatted before it could be used.

Your issue, while similar from the TAZ behavior, seems to be different since you can see the card's contents on your PC.

Hmm strange..
Sorry for the late answer, but I was quite a bit busy..

Tried again to print from sd..
And it worked today without changing anything...
I used the same sd cards like before, and they all work now, for some reason....

The SD Card Association has this program that will format the sd card in a format readable by the Taz 6. Sometimes Macs and Linux machines will format the cards in a way that is not really readable by devices. I first discovered this app when only a portion of my usb thumbstick capacity was detected by the system. https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

Also what brand is your sd card? Are you using the sd card that came with your Taz 6?
