Reducing heat creep in Taz 6 single extruder

If i run larger prints with pla (small room) sometimes i get the filament gouged which basically stops the print since no more filament can be pushed in. Are there any methods (some sort of fan attachment) that would stop heat creep from softening the filament?

I used an external 5.25" fan blowing at the tool head and I have eliminated 99% of my heat creep problems with PLA. I now have two 80mm fans mounted on the frame that are controlled by the Raspberry Pi that the printer is connected to (OctoPi / OctoPrint). The Pi remembers to turn the fans off for the first layer and then on for the rest of the print much better than the operator did with the 5.25" fan!
