What's different about the "Lulzbot Edition" version of Cura

So… what’s different about it? I just compiled the version from Ultimaker on my system, and it claims to support the Lulzbot printers (mine is a Taz 4). Is there a compelling reason to go back and download the Lulzbot edition of Cura? Is it actively maintained, or will it quickly be outpaced by the Ultimaker version? Are there features I’d be missing if I stayed with the Ultimaker version?

I’m curious about this as well. If you look at the forks in GitHub, I seem to recall having to look back a long ways to find a common branch. Maybe they are incorporating each others fixes, but I honestly don’t know.

I don’t know about the differences in the soft ware but I have not had luck with the profiles provided for cura on the site. Hardly anything on the first layer would adhere to the bed. I had to convert & transfer settings from slic3r to get an acceptable print from cura.

I’d love to hear from someone at AO about this!

Did you try using the profiles from Lulzbot’s site for Ultimaker’s version of Cura?
