I recently purchased a flexy-dually print head, and I see it requires a firmware update. Can this firmware update also be used for the all-metal print head, or will I need to switch firmware back and forth whenever I need a print that only the all-metal head can do?
You will want to switch firmware whenever you switch between single or dual extruders or when switching between hexagon (all metal) and budascnozzle hot ends. I would suggest always considering switching firmware each time you change the extruder just to be safe. I made the mistake and damaged my heat resistor. Now I’m still working to get the parts to put my Flexystruder back together again.
Just remember you may need to recalibrate between firmware changes or make the calibration settings a part of the code settings you reflash with.
