Taz 3.1->4.0 Stiffened X Ends

Post by chiphead » Thu Aug 21, 2014 8:41 pm

For those that are printing they're upgrade and don't have access to a machine shop. I integrated the ends with the plates and added some stiffening. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:436981 Thing includes freecad source and PLA ini.

WOW! Very nice! I just did the conversion from 3.1 to 4.0 with the stock TAZ ABS printed parts and I can see that there is some flex in the thin section. This will help a lot! I think that I will print them off today and "upgrade" my upgrade to 4.0.

Is there any issues with interference with other parts with extreme high prints? Please post pics of this installed if you can.

Thanks! :D :D

no clearance problems. if you use stock endstops, you will need to bend the legs 90 degrees for the z endstop wiring to clear. The end stops I used have shorter legs. Other than that its all good. Ill post a video later today.

Hi, can you tell us which parts are these two pieces replacing? Which parts did you integrate? can you take a picture with the parts installed?

After finding this, I don't know what to print anymore.

thanks
