Should I lube my Mini?

What, if anything, should be lubed on my Mini and what should I use for lube?

Those bearings may be intended as self lubricating but unless you keep them scrupulously clean they will get contaminated and, ultimately, noisy. That seems to be a one-way road, too. The stainless shafts on our Mini apparently got some dust on them and despite repeated cleanings, they now "groan" when the position and speed are just right. I suspect some dust/whatever got into the bearings, and no amount of shaft cleaning is getting it back out.

Interesting. Both my lulzbots will make sea lion-type sounds under just the right conditions.
