Any other test results from you guys that have the V2?
I hope to install mine before the end of the week… Waiting on parts to convert my current extruder plug to the new combined connector.
Here are my first successful prints…
Still needs a bit of work. From the key tag, it looks like I’m underextruding a bit - flow multiplier was set to 95% so I may bump it back to 100%.
There’s a slight shift in either the X or Y… Not really noticeable visually, but the slight shift in the bands on the work cone can be felt. Could be that I didn’t put in the right offsets from the calculator…
I did the upgrade to the hardened rods on the X-axis to help support the weight of the dual extruder. Total time spent was about 2hrs from start to the keytag above.
Overall I’m happy with the outcome.
I have to correct myself about the fan ducts above. After flashing the firmware, it seems the two fans can’t be controlled independently. Neither Cura or S3D have the option, and the LCD display only shows one fan. So it seems to be a limitation of the Rambo… therefore the engineers designed the fan ducts to the limitations of the printer.

The artifacts on the side of cone are also my error in having the support generation turned on… apparently the ooze shield needed supporting according to S3D.
As part of the installation, the X-rods were replaced with hardened rods with linear bearings. This should support the weight of the dual extruder better. Also needed to modify the original extruder plugs to accommodate the new single plug… good thing was the female plugs could be reused without re-crimping. Total time spent was about 3hrs from start to the keytag above.

No the Rambo can control two fans. The firmware hex needs to be rewritten to support two fans. I have a v1 dual extruder with two fans that I can control separately. Just need the right firmware.
Thanks! I’ll need to look enable that and build a firmware… redesign the duct also.
Sorry to rekindle an old thread…
For those who own the tool head, make sure to check the M3 screws on the bottom of the extruder. I’ve had a few the two screws which hold the aluminum plate to the toolhead mount work themselves loose. Which resulted in sloppier prints.
So if the T1 has lost its accuracy, check those M3 socket cap screws on the bottom of the toolhead.
