Just got Taz 5 today. Been troubleshooting all day. It makes a terrible noise as it attempts to move in z. Both motors barely move and the noise stops when I tap the Z limit switch. I have not printed anything as of yet, as I can’t get past this issue.
Ive found mine jams due to the speed the z axis moves in. In the firmware change the max z speed to 3, can be done via lcd. Also make sure the x axis is level. Use the lil metal ruler and measure each side from aluminum build plate to bottom of rod.
More than likely the left and right Z motor are out of level with each other. Lulzbot has instructions somewhere on the proper method to level them out. But since it’s new, why not just call them? they have excellent support.
