I have seen conductive filament listed in the store in the past. Still actually listed, but discontinued.
Are there any conductive filaments that you have used? How well does it work?
I like the idea of eliminating a wiring harness by simply printing the conductive circuits into the plastic structure of the device. Any thoughts on whether this will work?
It does technically work, but it doesn’t work very well at all. The resistance of the rinted fillament is extremely high. It would work for a simple wiring harness, such as a power circuit for a very low voltage LED, but it isn’t suitable for anything requiring speed or large amounts of power. it’s also extremely difficult to find in 3.00mm. printing it too is a challenge. It’s based off PLA, but it’s like printing an extremely brittle type of filled PLA.
It’s a neat idea, but the execution really isn’t there yet.
