Deleting wipe gcode

My lulzbot mini 1 wipes too aggressively, and doesn’t even probe before wiping, does anyone know if deleting the wipe code from the start code hurts the rest of the print?

It should wipe before probing, because the plastic on the nozzle insulates the nozzle from the electrical connection with the washers, which prevents accurate probing.

Without the wiping, the bed measurements will be completely unreliable, so your first layer will be unreliable, so your entire print will be hurt.

I’ve been cleaning the nozzle between prints, and instead of trying to probe it wipes so hard that the entire printer shakes.

That is pretty normally honestly.
We have never seen any issues with regards to how aggressive the Mini 1 wipes.

You could also modify your start gcode to not wipe so far into the pad by changing the z value for the wipe.

Okay, thank you for the advice.
