Is there a way t look at and change the x and y distances for the G29 probing sequence?
also is there a way to reset the printers main xy zero location?

The coordinates used by G29 are set by the firmware. Since the firmware is open source Marlin, you can download and examine the source code. Just need to know what model printer and what version of the firmware.

The printer determines the axis zero locations by using end stops with G28. You can shift this position using M206.

What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Thanks for the response. I’m using a v3 dual Extruder on just E0. I was going to have just that nozzle do the touch off.

This is the section where the Bed Leveling stuff for a range of Lulzbot printers is configured in the Drunken Octopus fork of Marlin (I highly recommend Drunken Octopus as a starting point if you’re going to work on customizing your firmware.)

My problem is the printer (TAZ 6) doesn’t center my model on the build plate. This wasn’t a problem 7 months ago- even old gcodes place the part in the center. I tried to reload an older version (on the computer) that I used before but that didn’t change anything (this is where I"m at currently).
Do I need to upgrade the version on the printer (1.1.5.71)?

The version of CuraLE and the firmware loaded on the printer should be compatible (i.e. use CuraLE to update the firmware and it will install a compatible version).

You can downgrade CuraLE if you wish but let it install a downgraded version of the firmware.

I should mention that the printer is not connected to the network so we have to hand-deliver the files to the printer.

Logistics aside, you are slicing files somewhere with an unidentified slicer. You are printing the resulting gcode delivered by an unidentified method on a TAZ 6 with a very old version of firmware (if 1.1.5.71 is the firmware version).

Either you adjust the printer settings on the slicer to match the current firmware or you find a way to get a system with CuraLE close enough to the printer to update its firmware to a more recent version.

Without more details (like version numbers) we can’t do much to solve your “center of the build plate” issue. Slice a simple object like a 3x3x3mm cube and post the gcode here.

My TAZ 6 is connected to an RPi 3B running OctoPi / OctoPrint.
There is a plugin for OctoPrint that allows firmware updating.

If you can actually find a Pi these days, that’s the way to go. I have many Pi3b’s running Octoprint and Obico (formerly Spaghetti Detective). Be aware that you’ll want to be conservative in your print speeds since the printer’s control board can only push so much data out. Those USB UARTS are pretty slow and I’ve seen defects show up in prints if you push past 50mm/s
