IMPORTANT! Problem with Dual V3 and/or new Cura

After picture (for some reason I couldn’t attach both to the same post):

Look in the devel site at the Taz 7 extruder…

Can you link please? Can’t seem to find it.

I’m still on the fence between buying a v3 dual extruder for my taz 6 or selling the taz 6 altogether. It’s been sitting there like a white elephant because of the horrible v2

For anyone who is having issues communicating with the V3 dual extruder through Octoprint, we may have a fix ready. We have a new version of firmware which has one report of getting this fixed up. If you would like to give the newest a try the Marlin 1.1.5.71 branch can be found here: http://devel.lulzbot.com/software/Marlin/1.1.5.71/

Thats what I was on with my last post, so make it 2 reports so far.

Simple dual rack design. Center gear and 2 racks.

will this be compatible with the taz 6?

Not without some notable modification. There arent enough pins available in the existing harnesses for it. I do wish they would add a filament sensor to the toolhead though…

Dang, seriously considering just selling off my taz 6 and switching to a prusa… It’s been a massive disappointment for me so far

Depends what you need it for. The 6 is a bit behind TBH. Its showing its age. But its rock solid reliable for production. Ive had several going about 24x7 for months without issue. Stop and go over once a quarter or so, aside from when I feel like playing or something odd happens (like a bit of spaghetti filament in the heat block fan…). Its a bit more rigid and durable construction. Nozzle size and filament diameter choice, as well as price point, gear it more towards the pro-sumer and light production and prototyping markets rather than home use.
