so I found a local deal with a Lulzbot mini and a bunch of Kryonmax filament. To be honest I have no need for any of it, but it seems like a good deal to resell if anyone will actually buy the stuff. I’m talking 4.5kg spools of it, on a pallet.
Just wondering if its worth even getting at this point?
To most people, the mini is basically inferior to any printer on the market right now. It uses an essentially obsoletely filament size. It has a tiny print volume. It’s slow. It doesn’t do any true bed leveling.
It is, however, open source and infinitely repairable and maintainable if you want something that works completely off the cloud and are willing to learn how to use it.
4.5kg spools of what plastic? Probably ABS or PLA. Unless it was engineering grade (which you wouldn’t be printing on a mini) it’s going to old, and nobody’s using 2.85mm filament anymore.
So, basically, buying this to try and resell is not worth it. Let somebody who is going to use it themselves take on the burden.
UMMM I kind of explained it in the first post you replied to , you must have missed it. its about 25 spools of 4.5kg KryonMAx and about 20 spools of PETG. From what I have found the Kryonmax stuff is Engineering grade 2.85mm Nylon and CF? or something similar. Apparently the seller was using the mini to print it. I honestly have zero need for the mini itself, but if the Kryonmax is re sellable I’d be interested in picking it up. I just don’t really know of anyone who would still use it.
I wouldn’t consider CF Nylon engineering grade. PEKK, PEEK, and maybe some PPS-CF would qualify. There’s the newer CPX-KryonMAX would is selling for about $100/kg, that’s not just CF-Nylon.
HartSmart is one of the guys trying to buy and sell 2.85mm out there, and their CF-Nylon moves quite slow, even at $20/kg.
So if you’re not going to use it, and don’t know anyone who is going to use it, it sounds like you’d be trying to flip something into an already thin market as an unknown seller trying to sell something that only established businesses really have a need for.
