When will Lulzbot have a kit for dual extruders? I could order another hot end and print the parts, but would be nice to jump right to the dual extruder now. I would really like to use PVA/ABS prints.
The question is whether HIPS or PVA work well as support material with Ninjaflex. Not all pairs of materials work well together for fused filament deposition.
I have an older TK-0 (pre Taz) that I built about two years ago. Would this new dual extruder work with it?
How difficult would it be to get Marlin working with a Rumba controller for dual extrusion?
I’m told by tech service that ABS, HIPS and Ninjaflex work well together and that they are all extruded at about the same temp which helps them to bond well to each other.
I just built the FlexyDually. I switched the stepper motor on my original TAZ4 extruder to a half height stepper and checked the calibration with it mounted on the dual extruder. I had to increase the Esteps from 848 to 957 to get it to extrude 100mm of ABS. I was surprised by this because I expected it to be about the same as before? Do the half height stepper motors have such different behavior from their full height brothers? Anyone else experience this?
