Hello! The filament in my nozzle is stuck. I am using HIPS from Lulzbot - I have tried heating up the nozzle a little bit higher to loosen it up but I can’t get it out or extrude it down. The filament is rubbing on the bolt. Not sure how to fix this. I have a ton of student projects to print! Help!

You will need to take it apart to clear the jam, no magic wand. Snip off the filament feed and clear it out, heating and pushing it out with a small rod might be an option. If you don’t have the tension set right on the feed it will do it again. Since you both have new machines and are new users I suggest getting in touch with tech support so they can walk you through it. If you did a search here on clearing a jam you might find an answer.
