Compare Mini (1) to Taz 5

Hello, I’ve had a Mini (1) for many years, but have someone nearly giving away a Taz 5. I know the Taz doesn’t have a self leveling bed, but has a much larger bed, are there other pros/cons to getting that old of a unit? Thank you.

Cons: It’s slow, retrofitting an official 1.75mm toolhead will cost about as much as buying a printer that runs 4-5x faster.

Pros: You can add BLTouch to the taz5 easily, if you can do the custom firmware. It’s infinitely repairable, easy to work on, fully documented, completely open source, robust, not tied to any cloud services, it’s now in OrcaSlicer (you’re welcome).

Just understand why it’s slower is because it’s a older machine my advice is if you can afford something new a Taz 8 that’s great if not a workhorse + is a bit lower then half the price of a taz8 my my expert opinion

Thank you both for your advice!
