My TAZ 5 is now about 1 month old, I printed about 1kg of PLA. Now I recognised, my extruder gears seems to wear, see attachet picture. White abrasions everywhere… Is this normal looking? How long are the gears expected to be in service?
Very normal to see this wear, as for how long they typically last - I leave to support to answer that one. I think if you start seeing a lot of back/forth play in the gear tooth engagement then it is time for a new one. Or if it falls apart like a few I have had!
