Identifying Tool Head on used Taz 6

Hello, I purchased a used Taz 6, when adding the printer to Cura (ver 4.13.16), and trying to connect, I get an error that states “Wrong Tool Head Detected!..”. Unfortunately, I don’t know what tool head is on this machine. How do I find out what it is?

From the pics below are you able to help me figure out what setting to select, if not the default “Single Extruder”.

Thank you

That is the Aerostruder, LulzBot part number KT-CP0128-0405.

Original Aerostruder head.

It’s an old legacy (no-longer supported) toolhead in modern firmware, as they switched to mirrored Titan Aero-based extruders in the SE 0.5, SL 0.25, HE and such, so that the tension knob would be accessible instead of pressed against the mounting plate.

It should operate fine as the SE 0.5, but you may need to activate and use the M206 command in order to position the nozzle in the correct position to wipe and level correctly.

Thank you both for the information! One more question, the larger blower on the front of the tool head, should it run when the smaller side fan runs? Or does it turn on independent of the side fan?

Front blower is the part cooling fan.

The one on the side is the heatsink fan.

They are independent. The heatsink fan is constantly on when the printer is on. The part cooling fan is controlled by software when part cooling is active.

Thank you! I’ve had a Mini for years, but this Taz 6 fell into my lap and I couldn’t pass it up. I’m trying to take step by step and not assume it’s the same as my Mini.

I’ve cleaned it, powered it up, verified firmware version, moved the tool head & bed and brought it up to temperature. I haven’t tried to adding filament or printing yet, but soon. Thank you for your help.

Correct me if I’m wrong Wasn’t their a toolhead that’s compatible with the workhorse i am thinking of a big nozzle size anyways I was thinking of a 2.85 mm if you could name it that would be right
*update I thought it was a (S) Series toolhead or a (H) series or maybe a another toolhead
