Lulz Taz 6 Dual extruder problems

I’ve have had a mostly good experience with the Dual Extruder V3 on my TAZ 6. I did have some problems with longer print jobs which I determined was probably heat creep. The cooling fan on the V3 is, IMO, a bad design but I’ve had good success with using a additional duct, see below.

On the V3, the shared heatsink with, IMO, poorly engineered cooling flow, has a solution that works for me at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3213878 . I was able to get the stock fan to attach with some careful rerouting of the existing wiring. There are also higher CFM 40mm fans that can be used if necessary.

I found this Dual Extruder V3 Fan Duct and the description makes a lot of sense so I printed one for my TAZ 6. After a bit of fiddling with the wiring harness, I was able to get enough slack in the stock fan wiring to use it without any cutting and soldering of the wires. The original author used PLA but I used PETG because I had some. ABS would also work and might have a bit higher heat tolerance.
