Yeah, GPT is an idiot. You don’t have a probe to offset from the nozzle, because your nozzle is your probe. If you’re making any changes based on GPT, I am not going to try and track what it’s screwing up based on hallucinations of support forum solutions.
If you insert an M206 before the wipe command, it will wipe lower.
I did do that and yeah gbt is an idiot, the benchy is still printing rn, and im hoping it still works for a second one.
I tried the m206 command and what conclusion i got was that when i altered the m206 command to perfectly hit the wipe (M206 X-2 Y0.00 Z3) it wiped properly, both when manually using the console and running a print, however the leveling failed form that point and that point again when returning to m206 X0.00 Y0.00 X0.00 even though it works with that same 206 from factory reset.
So idk what changing, If i dont change it it works once, if i change it it and change it back it wipes but doesn’t level.
currently what i am testing is with gcode that does not modify m206 in any way, and seeing if after this print, that i can print again. if i can, i’m just going to use the facotry defaults because for some reason it works
okay. apparently it works now. I’m going to have to add a lift extruder step after heating so that the filament doesnt flwo out and onto the nozzle as this seems VERY sensitive to conductivity. and hopefully maybe i can get the m206 commands to work, I honeslty have zero fucking clue why its working now but wasn’t earlier
OH MY GOD IT FUCKING WORKED the m206 commands worked and its printing another benchy after wiping properly. I swear if i never have to touch this printer again for any stupid firmware reason im gonnabe so happy…
also if this was all caused by a speckle of filament causing the probes to not detect i might actually break this fucking printer istg
Side note, I’m probably looking into building a Voron 2.4 with klipper, How much easier is klipper than marlin to set up because this seemed like hell. also again, thank you.
This is the equivalent of becoming a because you had trouble figuring out the instructions on Ikea furniture.
Kiauh makes installing it easier than it used to be, for sure, but calibrating one to be a great machine is much more complicated than M206.
You might want to try throwing on a BLTouch clone to get around the flawed leveling system. Have a watch of this - Lulzbot Taz 6 Upgrade: M175 v2 Tool Head + BL Touch Auto Leveling! (Full Guide & Fixes) - I did with the firmware configuration that’s used. You’ll have to do a little bit of M851, M206 and such to account for the different toolhead, but that’s a one-time thing and you don’t have to worry about nozzle plastic screwing things up anymore.
that is Fair. BUT I’m calling building a compliated 3d printer like that (even if it takes me a year) an acedemic experience, since i’ll get a lot of use out of it for college, and I like a challenge, this was just kinda a thing to do for my Current engineering teacher since this printer never worked before i touch it lol. neither of the lulzbots they have did.
