I have been trying to get a Mini2 I inherited working. Today I upgraded to the latest firmware (2.1.3.0.27).
When running bed-levelling, the nozzle has been pressing into the metal plate without triggering.
Continuity: I see continuity between the 4 plates; but not between the plates to the nozzle, not between the nozzle to the frame, and not between the frame and the plates.
Does that sound like a bad board, or bad connections to those contacts?
First off there is a chance with metal contact could affect leveling & let me make sure I read that correctly four plates because you should only need one magnetic plate
I am not sure I used the proper term. There are 4 large washer/contacts on the corners of the print plate. Those are not grounded to the frame when the power is off (I read in another comment they should be). They are grounded to the print plate structure though,
I opened up the controller board housing, and they are not in contact with the ground screw there.
There shouldn’t be a connection between the nozzle and washers normally. Making that connection completes a circuit from the mother board, through the wiring, to the bed, through the screws, to the washers, to the nozzle, through the hot end, to the zero sense wire on the toolhead, through the wiring, into the electronics box, and to the ground screw inside the electronics box.
If the machine is not stopping when it touches the washer, you need to get a multimeter and test that circuit path until you find where the circuit has been broken.
I took the cover off the controller… There is a resistor inline between the leveling washer ground and the rest of the chassis. So when the nozzle contacts it can be detected.
I didn’t change anything, but I def jiggled wires and that apparently did the trick, leveling is working again.
But now… I am having connection issues to the pc
