I have Taz 5 I inherited from my deceased uncle. He also gave me a bunch of raspberry pi 4 modules including one with the 7β touchscreen attached to it. Not sure if it is possible, but is there a way to use the touch screen to control my taz 5 in replacement of the lcd screen and dial?
While it doesnβt replace the LCD screen and dial, OctoPrint is an extremely popular option using a Raspberry Pi connected to the 3D printer. It has a plugin system with plugins that will take advantage of a touch screen.
My straight up advice learn the 3DPrinter first also while lulzbots are built to last long understand a Taz 5 is a old machine in terms of the trends wind
