Swapping Extruder Temps (HW or SW) on Dual Extruder

Since I wasn’t able to resolve the extruder temp swap issue, I think I might try to swap the temps assigned myself. As far as I can tell, it isn’t heat creep nor a simple incorrect cable, as I burned my hand on extruder 1 from a cold start when I set preheat (on the printer) to Extruder 1 and Extruder 1 was still cold. However, commands to Extruder 1 movement are correct. Only temperatures seem to be reversed. It seems to reflect similarly when controlling the printer temps via USB.

I’m unable to print as the standby nozzle melts the part if I keep both extruders at print temp, and the filament grinds if I keep the temperatures as “normal” since the standby temperature is too low.

I’d like to try either swapping the assigned extruders via Hardware or Software, and wondering if anyone could point me to the right direction to start (and what would be easier).

Please tell us more about your setup. What model printer? What version of firmware? What version is the Dual Extruder? What slicer(s) are you using (include version number)? What OS (and version) are you running the slicer(s) on? How do you get the gcode file to the printer?

Perhaps more detail on the “extruder temp swap issue” (i.e. an example).
