Hey everyone
Anyone have this problem with their Pro’s?
It has happened 4 times. No static electricity to blame.
Insert USB, screen goes blank.
Power off, power on, everything is good again.
(That top loading USB plug seems a bit wonky as well)

Format your USB drive and ensure that there are not a lot of files on it.
If there a lot of files, or the files themselves are larger, it can cause the printer to restart.
The machines are not huge computers and have a limited cache and can get bogged down.
Interesting since this is a new machine and a new USB I suspect the connector is a bit wonky but I can certainly try your ideas too!
A few years late but… My TAZ Pro shorted out when connecting the USB drive recently. I removed the side panel and the top mount USB connector and found there’s a piece of copper with 3 tabs on it that connect to the frame to ground it out. One of the 3 tabs were bent (Lulzbot assembly issues) and caused the short.
I bent that tab back, put it back together and all is well however I’ve reverted to how I handled my Lulzbot TAZ 5 and just power off and connecting/removing the USB and zero issues since.
Yeah that was a weird experience
I no longer have the machine
Fair
I had it happened and searched to see if anyone else had the issue and your post came up. I didn’t accept the USB format issue so I pulled the cover and saw that tabby thing so figured I’d reply
At least it might help someone else ![]()
