I just received some spools of ABS from MatterHackers and it looks like this:
Is this typical? Should I return it?
That’s not normal or ideal, but it probably is still usable. Check further into the spool and see if it keeps going. Its probably grounds to ask for an exchange if its worth the time and effort to you, but it should also be usable as is.
I would dissect a couple of those bumps and make sure there isn’t an air pocket under them. That would likely caught skips from the air expanding when laying down the layer.
