Bent Laywood filament

Hi,

Playing with Laywood for the first time today. Got the print up and running, but about 1/2 way through the feed stopped. When I pulled out the laywood to see what was up, the filament at the top where the gears feed the filament through was bent. So, two things:

  1. why did the filament bend?

  2. how do I prevent this in the future?

Thank you lulz pros!

Hard to tell by your post. Can you put up a picture?

the filament at the top where the gears feed the filament through was bent.

Sorry, but are you saying it bent before the hobbed bolt or between the hobbed bolt and the nozzle tip? If the later it could be that there was too much pressure built up in the hotend. this could be because your feed rate is too fast–printing too fast, the nozzle temp is too low, or a combination of things.

K thank you! I will look into those options. Worked fine with the mini with the .ini profile.
