I wanted to calibrate the eSteps on my stock Taz 6 but I can’t figure out how to extrude 100mm of filament. I just haven’t been able to figure that out. I apologize for asking such a stupid question but how the heck to do I do that?
Hello,
We actually have a guide on this process on our OHAI page linked below.

Oh thank you so much. I’ve been looking for that for days!
I think the guide is missing the formula to use for the E-Step calculation.
I believe Step 10 has that covered:
Add 7mm to your Esteps for every mm your printer under extruded
Subtract 7mm from your Esteps for every mm your printer over extruded
Hee! Hee! That assumes a set fixed diameter for the manually manufactured hobbed bolt! Very unlikely.
Well then I could try someone else if you have an actual recommendation.

Google for e steps calibration calculator
and take your pick.
- New Steps/mm = (Old/Current steps/mm) x (asked for extruded length) / (measured distance filament traveled)
