Hello all,
Is there any benefit to changing the hotend that comes standard with a Lulzbot Taz 6 to an E3D V6 hotend? My v2.1 single extruder has been having consistency issues and I was recommended by a friend to change it. Is there much difference between the stock hotend and an E3D that would make the change worth it ?
Thank you for your time,
Wyatt
I don’t (yet:) have an E3D V6 on my Taz, but I have some E3DV6’s on other printers and I can’t say that I’ve noticed any significant differences between my V2.1 single and the E3Ds on my other printers, with the possible exception of esteps…
I’m in the process of building an E3D Volcano extruder for my Taz 6 and it’s not a trivial effort ( and somewhat complicated by my current inability to find source code for a reasonably current version of firmware, but that’s a different story…)
I also have what I would describe as “consistency issues” with my Taz 6, mostly related to bed leveling, but occasionally I have to tweak the esteps on the extruder.
