I’ve already updated the firmware with the help of the Lulzbot support team, and that resolved an earlier issue with the nozzle crashing into the wipe felt. That no longer happpens.
The nozzle rises off the bed as it goes from left to right. This video captures it, noticeably rising between 0:06- 0:13 and then lowering to press against the bed at 0:18. The probing process during calibration sometimes presses too hard on the left points (where I can see the bed visibly sink) and then only taps on the right ones. Other times, it taps lightly on all four without depressing the bed. Every time however, the rising property stays, so I’m not sure the probing behavior indicates anything.
The nozzle isn’t clean.
If it ever visibly moves the bed at all when touching a washer, the nozzle is not clean.
After touching the first two corners, whatever was on the nozzle is usually squished out of the way, so it only taps the other sides. This inaccurate measurement is going to cause the nozzle to be further down on the side that got pressed than the other side.
Also, the Mini2 has frequent gantry sag, so if you touch the belt and can’t feel it move at all when when the nozzle-to-bed gap changes, the gantry isn’t in line. There is an align Z option in the motion menu you can try. I included it (M34 command) in my startup GCODE prior to the G29 (level bed), and it helped a lot.
If somebody has tried to compensate for the unclean nozzle by adjusting the Z offset, you’ll need to correct that after cleaning the nozzle.
