I am running modified TAZ5 on klipper with v2 standard toolhead and that works fine. I am now trying to create profile for Moarstruder.
Anyone done that, before I damage my printer with bad profile
This is from my standard toolhead.
microsteps: 16
gear_ratio: 48:9
rotation_distance: 21.179
nozzle_diameter: 0.5
filament_diameter: 2.85
control: pid
pid_Kp: 28.79
pid_Ki: 1.91
pid_Kd: 108.51
The nozzle diameter is 1.2 (unless you’ve changed it) and you’ll need to run the PID autotune since there’s significantly different heating characteristics.
and rotation_distance I suppose correlates to E-steps? What about gear_ratio ? I assume it should be the same as for standard extruder as it uses same herringbone gears
Yes, those should be the same, however, since the moarstruder uses a hobbed bolt instead of precision gears, the actual steps/mm will be different from toolhead to toolhead and doing a e-step calibration will still be required.
Also, as the teeth cut into the gear wear down, the steps/mm will increase, as the effective gear ratio is reduced. More reason to occasionally verify your esteps.
