nGen and ABS

Is ABS significantly stronger than nGen? I see that nGen is recommended by Lulzbot, but that they also say they use ABS for the parts that make up the Taz. I haven’t been able to find any info on the tensile strength, impact strength and other properties of the different filaments.

Here’s a link that will give you a comparison chart with nGen, XT, HT, ABS, & PLA. It doesn’t show actual strength figures but shows the relative strength of each filament compared to the others.

According to that chart, there isn’t any difference in the strength of nGen and ABS. So why is it that Lulzbot recommends nGen, but then uses ABS for manufacturing its own parts?

ABS is cheaper, and withstands a bit higher temps.

Thanks!

Found these testing results for various filaments. https://www.matterhackers.com/news/filament-strength-testing NylonX looks like the best for tough parts. Can we get that for the Taz?
